7th Hellenic Data Management Symposium 2008 Heraklion, Crete, 28-29/7/2008
Data management is a cornerstone of the Information Age, driving the rapid growth of Information and Communication Technologies. The most recent advances in the area are presented and discussed in a number of events around the world. The Hellenic Data Management Symposium (HDMS) is the annual forum for the Greek database community to present and discuss recent advances in the data management field. After a successful series of six events held since 2002, the 7th symposium will be held at the Foundation for Research and Technology, Hellas (http://www.forth.gr) in Heraklion, on the 28 and 29 of July 2008, following the week-long Onassis Foundation Lectures in Computer Science (http://www.forth.gr/onassis/). The program of HDMS 2008 will include research and application paper presentations, tutorials, panels and demonstrations of research prototypes. A PhD forum will also give an opportunity to graduate students to present their work in progress and receive feedback. The key criterion in judging submissions is that of technical content. As such, papers recently accepted for presentation in top international conferences may be also submitted to HDMS and considered for inclusion in the unofficial HDMS proceedings.
